Price & Product Updates, Exclusives & Discounts, Oh My!

As another year comes to a close (where has the time gone?) I’m over here like a busy lil’ bee planning for the new year and I’ve got some exciting updates to share on pricing and products.

This blog post is a tad bit longer than anyone wants, so I’ve included a quick version in case there’s something specific that pertains to your business.

TL;DR version

• We will only be doing semi-exclusive unit studies and busy books in 2025
• Unit studies will be $45, busy books $40 and study busy books $30 starting Jan 1
• You can now purchase pre-sales of upcoming unit studies for a discount (check out the Dec options)
• You can now purchase exclusive unit studies on a topic of your choosing, there will be 5 available each month for $199/each (the Dec orders are discounted to $150)
• Going forward all versions of a study will be available to purchase from a single listing (see this frog study as an example!)

2025: The Year of the Semi-Exclusive

Starting January 2025, honestly, starting now, all busy books and unit studies will come only in semi-exclusives.

I’ve experimented a lot with pricing and quantity over the last six months, and based on the numbers: semi-exclusives are the name of the game. They sell better AND faster, which tells me that you all like them better—which is great news for me, because so do I!

Pending a listing has sold LESS than the 6 max I run for semi-exclusives, you’ll see it change from a limited run to a semi-exclusive over the next week. This simply means we’re limited future sales.

If you’ve already purchased a limited-run busy book or unit study:

• You can still access it in your downloads under the SAME product file
• You’ll have less competition because only 5 more people can purchase it
• And everyone else has to pay more because the price of future sales will match other semi-exclusives

…this is a win-win in my books!

All of the former limited run products that are busy books or unit studies will be removed and re-listed in the next week as semi-exclusives—fit with fancy color variations.

So, if there’s something you’re interested in, buy it before the price goes up!

Predictable Pricing Model

I’m not going to lie to you—it might seem like I have a method to my madness when it comes to pricing… but I assure you, I do not. I usually look at the last few products and think “seems legit” before marking the price the same.

With that in mind, I built a legitimate pricing model that will help EVERYONE plan their budgets better (hopefully):

• Unit studies, regular sales (all semi-exclusive) $45 starting January 1
• Unit studies, pre-sale $40 starting January 1
• Mini unit studies, regular sales (also semi-exclusive) $27 starting January 1
• Busy books, regular sales (all semi-exclusive) $40 starting January 1
• Busy book study version (think bees, frogs, etc, also semi-exclusive) $30 starting January 1

There will also still be busy activities and worksheets, most available for $30 or less.

Unit Study Pre-Sales

Unit study pre-sales is something I’ve been excited about for a while, but scheduling is truly not my forte. But we now officially have a schedule for Q1 (and much of Q2), which means pre-sales can be a thing now (YAY!).

We’re going to beta unit study pre-sales for Q1. Unit studies will be available to order as a pre-sale for $40 (instead of $45) until dates indicated in the listing for each of the 5 studies.

The December pre-sale list is currently available, and the presale price for this round is $35 (instead of $40). However, the December deadlines start expiring Christmas day so grab what you want ASAP!

The January pre-sale list will be published on December 26, and those unit studies will be available for $35 until December 31 at 11:59 pm, when the price will go up to $40 – which will be the pre-sale price for Q1.

Exclusive Unit Studies

Yes, we’re going to beta test a formal run of exclusive unit studies in Q1 2025.

These unit studies will be both exclusive (only one version will be sold) and custom (you pick your topic). We will NOT be doing pre-done exclusive unit studies at this time.

We will be limiting the exclusive unit studies available per month to five (5), and they must be purchased the month BEFORE delivery. For example, exclusive studies purchased in January will be delivered in February.

Exclusive unit studies will be $199 starting January 1. However, we are running a quick sale until December 31 for unit studies that will be delivered in January. There are only 5 available.

Semi-Exclusives: All Under ONE Listing

WooCommerce and I have been fighting all year trying to get all the semi exclusive varieties into one listing instead of my current cave(wo)man approach… and finally, it’s working!

You can now go to one product listing and see ALL the colors available instead of having to fish around for something you maybe like a bit better. It’s a small win, but it’s one I’m excited about!
